Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for advanced battery technologies, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability is preferred, though practical experience will be prioritized at Flint.

  • Manage the full design lifecycle, from concept through prototyping to manufacturing, ensuring seamless integration with electrochemical and electrical components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that mechanical designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Develop and iterate on 3D models, CAD designs, and mechanical schematics, while ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Perform structural analysis and testing to validate design functionality and ensure product reliability under real-world conditions.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimize thermal management, packaging, and overall system efficiency.
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative, creative environment to drive design excellence.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within the energy, battery, or high-tech sectors, with a focus on hardware systems.
  • Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with simulation tools for mechanical analysis.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, structural integrity, thermal management, and material selection for high-performance applications.
  • Ability to design for manufacturability, considering cost, time-to-market, and scalability.
  • Experience with prototype development, testing, and iteration to refine designs based on real-world feedback.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for innovation in the field of energy storage.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
